Deacon Larry Oney is a Permanent Deacon for the Diocese of New Orleans.

Larry is principal shareholder, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Hammerman and Gainer International. Hammerman and Gainer is a privately held program risk management and financial services firm operating in Louisiana, Texas, Washington, Georgia and California. Hammerman & Gainer is the largest African American owned Third party Administration firm in the U.S with over 280 employees and 14 offices Larry has a B.A. in psychology with a minor in social studies.

 

Larry is a member of the New Orleans Chapter of Legatus, an international organization of Catholic CEO’S and their spouses. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Women’s New Life Center and the Catholic Foundation for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. He is a member of the steering committee for the Southern Regional Catholic Charismatic Conference. Deacon Larry is also a member of the Board of regents for our lady of Holy Cross College

 

His work includes motivational speaking, conducting retreats ,preaching and teaching at conferences, conducting parish missions and days of renewal. In 2007, Larry participated as the principal speaker in his first International Mission in the Nation of Grenada at the request of Bishop Vincent Darius. Larry was ordained a Deacon by the Most Reverend Alfred Hughes at the St. Louis Cathedral on December 13, 2008.

 

He and his wife, Andi, and their five children reside in LaPlace, Louisiana .
