William Mitchell, M.D.
Dr. William Mitchell is a Primary Care physician with the Veterans Health Administration. Currently, he works in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS) and is stationed in Baton Rouge, La. Although Dr. Mitchell was baptized as an Catholic as an infant he was not raised in the Catholic Church or in the Christian faith. On January 1, 1982, he had what he refers to as a " Damascus Road " type encounter with Jesus and accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and Lord and Jesus baptized him in the Holy Spirit. He and Deloris, his Catholic wife, started attending their local parish church regularly and he received weekly instructions from the associate pastor. He received first communion, first reconciliation and was confirmed that year. Following his profound conversion encounter with Jesus he has regularly prayed for the sick. Since 1982 he has seen Jesus do numerous divine supernatural healings and other signs and wonders for His people. Since his 1982 encounter with Jesus, he has served as a prayer group leader and speaker at numerous conferences, retreats, healing services, days of renewal, and Life in the Spirit seminars. Also, he and his wife have been active in their home parish churches and he has served as altar server, Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister, lector, catechist, and finance committee member and chairperson. Also, he has served as a Spiritual Advisor for a St. Vincent DePaul Society conference, member and a term as chairperson of the Pensacola-Tallahassee Commission for Charismatic Renewal, and currently serves on the Steering Committee for the Southern Regional Conference which meets annually in Kenner, LA. In 2005, he and his wife attended the First International Institute for Catholic Charismatic Leadership Formation in Rome.
